‘The Walking Dead’: Is [spoiler] really dead?
Having not read any of the comic books, I’m not sure how Glenn’s story arch on the show relates to the written material, but by the sounds of it, there’s still a lot of story left to be told.
Glenn’s death in “The Walking Dead” season 6 was a major tearjerker for the fans of the post-apocalyptic series, especially since he appeared to die at the merciless hands of the zombies. Knowing this, Nicholas will pull out his gun, say “thank you” to Glenn and kill himself before the walkers can get him. Nicholas seemed to be a troublemaker from the beginning and he once tried to kill Glenn.
But is – seriously, stop reading if you haven’t seen the episode – Glenn (Steven Yeun) really dead?
For now, it remains unclear whether Glenn is gone for good. But there are factors outside the show that muddy the waters a little. The fact that the show does not air on the west coast until two hours after the east coast airings means it was a slaughter fest of one of the most shocking moments on the show since that scene in Season 4 with Herschel.
What was unexpected, though, was Nicholas’ decision to put a bullet to his own head while saying the episode’s title, “Thank You”. The next episode will not give us any answers or closure about Glenn’s fate. Is the character really dead, or are the producers and writers just making it look that way, to provoke massive fan reaction?
Do you think Glenn is dead on “The Walking Dead”?
Please let it be known that there are possible SPOILERS ahead for the current season of The Walking Dead. Written by Scott M. Gimple and directed by Stephen Williams.
But after last night’s episode of The Talking Dead and Robert Kirkman’s wishy-washy statement about Glenn’s “death”, I think this is more than just wishful thinking.
“I mean, I know that I was there when we shot the scenes, I’m aware of what happened, and I know that there is still more story for the fans to experience with Glenn”, he tells Us Weekly. The talk show typically hosts guests who’s characters were recently killed off in the series.
You then see Glenn being “devoured” by the walkers, a look of horror and disbelief on his face. Was that all a few kind of fantasy? We don’t see Nicholas’ body, however.
Actors Andrew Lincoln (L) and Steven Yeun attend AMC’s “The Walking Dead” panel during Comic-Con worldwide 2014 at San Diego Convention Center on July 25, 2014 in San Diego, California. This feels like a stretch, but it’s the only explanation for how Glenn possibly makes it out of this alive.
