The Walking Dead just killed off a major character – didn’t they?
Just ahead of “The Walking Dead” season 5, the actor was asked whether fans should be anxious about his survival in the hit AMC series.
The latest episode of The Walking Dead saw one of the longest running characters – the resilient, heroic Glenn Rhee – bite it at the hands of one cowardly human and a horde of hungry zombies. It means that we are still going to see him on the upcoming episodes of “The Walking Dead” Season 6. Is Glenn really dead?
“We still have a larger audience than them and we’re very proud of that”, says the show’s executive producer Greg Nicotero, wryly. Glenn was with another guy, Nicholas, who was trying to redeem himself; he had let many friends die in the past by abandoning them during walker attacks.
Thanks to die-hard “Walking Dead” fans we’re fairly certain that Glenn is still alive. Why?
It seems highly unlikely the series would kill off a beloved character who has been on the show since the first season without giving him more of a sendoff.
As always, you can leave your comments and feedback at twdpodcast@gmail.com or by leaving us a review on iTunes. Granted, confirmation of Negan’s introduction doesn’t guarantee that Glenn will fulfill the same role as we’ve come to expect, though cast and crew have frequently addressed their interest in arriving at the famed sequence. While this is less than the equivalent episode in last season (13.8 million), it is still an impressive mid-season figure for a cable show.
The more important question is: Who cares? Yet, the spill from just one walker was enough to make the other walkers lose interest in her. Here, Glenn has his proverbial pick of the litter. Will we see other characters struggling with that quandary this season, besides Rick? What do you think? The importance of sticking together and not leaving people behind is the central theme of “Thank You”.
She also remains eerily calm during the Wolves’ assault on Alexandria.
I think Michonne would consider herself a realist…by way of tangent, my father-in-law’s an engineer, he’s a scientist, so it’s like, the optimist says the glass is half full, the pessimist says the glass is half empty, and my father-in-law says you have a poorly designed glass, and I think to a few degree you have that situation here with Michonne. “There are twists and turns, and bad things happen”. I hope people can watch the show in that same regard… This episode began right where Episode One kicked off, when the horn started blaring and the zombie herd started turning back. He told Daryl to keep going. And if you can believe it Daryl Dixon doesn’t even exist in the comics. I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong, as I am a Glenn fan, but in this case, I don’t feel that I am. Killing off Rick would be the gutsiest move the show could ever make; we entered the world through this lens, and not even “Lost” was able to do this with Jack until the series finale.
“By the end of season one, we know the world has changed and it is the end of the world as we know it, but it not yet at the point where Rick woke up in Georgia”.
You want another ultimate spoiler? We did see footage of him screaming as someone’s innards were ripped out by walkers – apologies if you’re having a meal while reading this – but there were plenty of signs something else was afoot.
