‘The Walking Dead’ Showrunner Scott Gimple Addresses Last Night’s Shocking Ending
But is he really dead?
AMC’s “The Walking Dead” may have just stunned fans of the diehard zombie drama and comic series that it is based on.
But that changed when Glenn and Nicholas, a resident of the Alexandria compound, found themselves cornered by zombie masses and stuck on top of a rubbish bin during last night’s brutal episode. It has been speculated on the social media all the possible ways Gleen could survive the walker attack. For one, Glenn was not included in the “In Memoriam” segment. Have you done things that made you afraid of yourself afterwards? However, this is not the first time that the producers of the show have strayed from the comics, so it shouldn’t come as a complete surprise.
Unlike with Jon Snow, fans won’t have to wait months to find out whether or not Glenn is alive. The rogue herd closes in on the town and the group is quickly trapped, Glenn and Nicholas on top of a dumpster and the rest behind a fence. Nicholas freaks out and shoots himself, falling off the dumpster. One who was blaming Rick for everything was bit nearly immediately after badmouthing Rick. He’ll go burn down a nearby building in hopes it’ll attract the walkers towards it… and away from Alexandria. Those two deaths didn’t matter much. We expected episode 2 or episode 3 to let us down after that incredible season premiere, but the show continues to keep us on edge in unique ways. She, Heath and a third guy do make it home, after losing at least half their group to walkers. Especially since the supposed death wasn’t even at the end of the episode. But his story was told so well throughout the course of the episode.
Next week’s episode will be 90 minutes long. Already knowing his destiny, David revealed a few details about himself. Will Maggie be forced to kill Glenn? He tells him “Good luck, dumbass”.
So, as we mourned Glenn and were left shaking our heads over his death, we were also left wondering about Rick when the hour cut to black and he was surrounded by wolves.
With that in mind, the title of the episode could have multiple meanings that tailor into this theory as well. It’s not ambiguous, it’s just plain manipulative, not to mention a cop-out.
The Walking Dead recap show is back with hosts John Rocha, Kaori Takee, Quinn Marie and Josh Macuga. However, that possibility may be very slim since there is no practical way for Glenn to escape death.
Before we get started talking about you-know-who getting you-know-what, please, please back away from the computer screen if you haven’t seen Sunday’s The Walking Dead because dear Lord, there are huge, huge, major spoilers ahead.
