The Walking Dead trailer keeps fans guessing at Comic-Con
While the showrunners and cast are being very hush hush about the new season, fans will surely get some answers when the show returns to AMC on October 23.
It’s a brand new day in the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead, returning for its seventh season on October 23.
A trailer revealed The Kingdom, a group from executive producer Robert Kirkman’s comic books, along with King Ezekiel and his tiger.
Last Thursday the San Diego Comic-Con featured a Fear The Walking Dead panel in Hall H, which included actors such as Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Colman Domingo, Frank Dillane and Mercedes Mason. In this season 6 finale, one major character took a deadly beating from the show’s newest lunatic, the infamous, barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat-wielding Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). It’s a fantastic premiere to a fantastic season.
But rest assured, the identity of Negan’s victim will be revealed in the first episode as executive producer Greg Nicotero revealed recently. We’ll also get to know the nefarious Negan much better, which seems like a good thing as he might just be the most interesting and captivating character the show will ever have.
“Winter is here, and we’ve got to shoot in places with trees and wait for the leaves to turn”, said showrunner David Benioff. “It’s a fantastic premiere to a fantastic season”. “It affected me”, he said. “It’s all leading up to one of the greatest showdowns we’ve had on this show since Terminus”. Are you excited by the season 7 trailer?
The fresh trailer kicks off with an emotional look back at who exactly Negan’s bat victim may have been, though the retrospective strategically ends before actually providing anything resembling an answer. Die-hard fans might also want to check out a Preview Special, set to air on August 14. The 16-episode season will be split into two parts, with the first eight episodes airing in the fall and the second half debuting in February 2017.
As for Shiva, the zombie-eating tiger, rest assured knowing no big cats were harmed in the making of Walking Dead. As previously reported, the AMC folks have shown up at the huge 2016 Comic-Con event in San Diego, CA this weekend, and they delivered new trailer/spoiler clips for some of their shows. I was in Mexico on Friday.
“We’re still in the Walking Dead universe, but it’s so different”, he said.
Frank Dillane’s recovering addict Nick encounters Garcia’s character after he ditches his fractured family earlier in the season.
