The Weather Week Ahead: Up & down temps and little sunshine
Compared to last week, we’ve been pretty mellow in the weather department so far this week and it looks like that will continue into Valentines Day. Fog has developed during the afternoon and has gotten thicker limiting some areas to below 1 mile of visibility. This mean visibility could get very low, close to zero, like we had this morning. Highs will reach into the mid 60s while overnight lows stay in the mid 50s.
SUNDAY: Clouds will be on the increase, with late day rain showers possible, and a high temperature of 52 degrees.
Tuesday will also have a 30 percent chance of rain with some possible snow showers mixing in in the morning.
There’s a good chance of snow on Friday, when highs will be in the mid-30s.
Temperatures should fall below freezing north of I-40 by Friday morning, leading to freezing rain for the most part with rain south. A steadier period of rain is likely Thursday night. Of course with the rain, that means there are more clouds, therefore, still no sunshine, yet.

Overnight temperatures will drop to freezing tonight but windy conditions will make it seem much colder. A few lingering showers will hang around through the afternoon. By the afternoon the rain will migrate northward, but it will remain cloudy with a insane warm high of about 70. Highs will be near 50-degrees just before midnight. It’ll turn cooler heading into the weekend.
Clouds rolled back in earlier this evening and we can expect clouds the rest of the night.
There’s still a lot of uncertainty with this one right now, so check back daily as we iron out the details.
