The world’s most accurate Apple analyst just revealed some new details
Regardless of whether the first-gen iPad Pro will actually help Apple kill laptops, including some of its own MacBooks, Kuo still sees the device as a relative success, saying Apple could sell some 5.5 million units this year, along with as many as 1 million styluses.
Originally, the iPad Pro is expected to come out in September, but due to production issues, its launch has been moved to a later date. The stylus on the iPad Pro could be quite useful for note taking and editing purposes.
According to Geek Snack, there are reports about the 2016 model housing the fifth generation Intel Broadwell chips as its predecessor, but the 2016 notebook may come powered by a new player.
With the iPad Pro, Apple might slowly be entering in Microsoft Surface territory and might even work to give strong competition to the latter. And it has the advantage of being able to tightly integrate its own excellent software with its equally excellent hardware. We think that Apple understands the importance of having a pen like object or a stylus for a larger version of its iPad. This rumor comes from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a solid track record when it comes to insider information on AAPL products.
The answer to the delivering ideal next generation device is staring Apple in the face and it already has everything it needs to make it.
While we weren’t expecting either the iPad Air 3 or the iPad Pro this year from Apple, with rumors already claiming that the company is looking to breathe new life into the iPad Mini series this year, with the iPad Mini 4, Kuo’s claims end up further prolonging the expected date of an Apple device that has been in the rumor mill for almost a year now.
Other signs of the iPad Pro have been found hiding in the iOS 9 beta, and alleged leaked images have shown off the purported design of the unannounced tablet. Plus, the Force Touch on the iPad Pro would rely on a stylus to accompany most of the functions.
Introduced on the Apple Watch, and since rolled out to MacBook trackpads, Force Touch can recognize not only a tap but the pressure at which it’s applied. The heavy discount on the recently launched MacBook Air 2015 also hints at a new model coming soon.
