There’s a Brand New Flickr Pro Membership Out Now
Flickr has recently announced that they are bringing back the Pro tier, and while for the most part it is similar to the previous iteration of the Pro tier, it will also introduce some changes and new features as well, something that professional photographers might be able to appreciate if they rely on Flickr for storage or as their portfolio.
The new Pro seems mostly targeted to power users, offering improved insights and analytics so you can see how many people are viewing your photos. For yearly subscribers – not those monthly – Flickr offers a 20 percent discount on Adobe Creative Cloud’s Photography plan.
The debut of this new plan comes just over two years since Flickr’s last major update.
However, this is not the only improvements that Flickr has made for its Pro services. Users can track their view counts by photos, photostream, albums, collections and galleries, as well as favorites and comments.
Pro members also get free shipping on Flickr store items within the US (or 50% off internationally), so the subscription could very well pay for itself depending on how often you use those services.
For starters the feature will cost $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
Pro members will also be able to experience Flickr ad-free.
If you’re interested in Flickr Pro and are already a paying customer, Flickr can automatically upgrade you to the new Pro and says you’ll keep your existing pricing and unlimited space. However, these discounts will only be available to those who sign up for Pro on an annual basis, notes Flickr.
Lastly, as a measure of bragging about having Flickr Pro, all subscribers will receive a badge on their account. The difference was mainly in the price, as Ad-Free was $49.99 per year while Doublr was $499.99. Alternately, users can visit their Account page to upgrade to a different tier if they choose.
