There’s a Gap in Hillary’s Emails when Her Server Was Installed
Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson pressed the Justice Department Monday on whether offering Pagliano a “proffer session” – a chance to outline what he knows without fear of legal consequences – would constitute an official waiver of his Fifth Amendment rights moving forward.
Pc specialist Bryan Pagliano has refused to reply questions on his position in establishing the server utilized by Clinton whereas she was secretary of state.
“I take responsibility”, Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic Party’s nomination in the 2016 presidential election, said in an interview with ABC News, while still insisting that she violated no rules.
Judicial Watch says no messages were sent or received by Clinton on her private server Jan. 21 through March 17 of 2009.
Pagliano was a personally paid Clinton employee when he installed the server.
The senators lamented the State Department’s refusal to cooperate in their letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
Inquiries by the Senate Judiciary, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees, however, have been slowed by an impasse over their inability to obtain testimony from a former Clinton aide who set up and maintained her personal server, even while working at the State Department.
“Does the FBI or any other component of the Department of Justice currently have a criminal investigation open relating to Secretary Clinton’s private server?” the senators wrote Lynch.
The FBI has reportedly asked its “A-team” to conduct an “extremely serious” investigation into a possible violation of the Espionage Act, and some sources have said the investigation is criminal in nature, as HNGN previously reported.
“At critical times in our nation’s history, your predecessors have exercised that duty by appointing politically independent individuals to investigate potential wrongdoing involving senior administration officials”, Cornyn said, concluding that Americans “deserve the assurance that justice – and justice alone – is being pursued”.
A Maryland woman who was found pushing her dead child in a playground swing earlier this year has been indicted and charged with manslaughter and child abuse.
The lingering email saga has weighed on Clinton’s popularity, with a Gallup poll released Friday showing her favorability rating at 41 percent, compared to 51 percent who view her unfavorably – the lowest level since 1992. The letter was sent to Pagliano in care of his lawyers. Two intelligence agencies recently upheld an initial finding that two emails contained top secret information.
The cherry on this fetid sundae is the Bloomberg News scoop that the FBI is looking for any signs that hackers breached Clinton’s system – and for clues on whether any hackers were foreign-based.
