These pictures take you straight into Vaani Kapoor’s world
The flashback sees a young and carefree Dharam landing up in Paris at the behest of his friend, who gives him a job of a stand-up comedian in his night club. But it just doesn’t end there. But in Ranveer’s case, he admits that he’s always ended up getting his “strings” attached despite the woman wanting a “no strings attached” relationship. Yes!
Shyra (Vaani Kapoor), an Indian girl who is born and brought up in Paris is a tour guide by profession. But eventually, they start finding it hard to avoid the emotional perspective of a relationship that they were trying to keep undefined and that how the whole story paces forward.
Befikre Review: Can two temperamental, volatile exes become friends? Shyra is a sorted girl with a good head on her shoulders and Vaani’s breezy act makes you wonder why she hasn’t worked more!
Supporting actors do justice to their roles and support the story. “Befikre” belongs to Ranveer. Vaani Kapoor is okay.
The lead characters make the film highly enjoyable and Ranveer’s spectacular acting deserves a lot of credit for it. “I was scared because I truly believe that in all the films that we have done together Shah Rukh is the reason I came out looking good, so am I going to be exposed now?”, Chopra said in a note.
She ventured into Bollywood in 2013 with Yash Raj Films’ Shuddh Desi Romance and now, three years later, has bagged a film directed by Aditya Chopra.
Befikre has been made on a budget of Rs 55 crore. The biggest flaw of the movie is the thanda chemistry between Ranveer and Vaani, along with their poor characterizations.
However, Chopra startled everyone not once but in a progressive manner by unveiling the film’s first look posters, all having the lead actors gleefully locking lips in various postures. Even though one can not really blame Chopra for this, but the scenario of true friendship over love was depicted in a heart-warming way two months back in Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil“.
Befikre has some honest, amusing moments and the attempt to upgrade the romcom genre is apparent, but like most romcoms, you don’t come away with anything new. His last directorial Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was a damp squib and now the director is back with yet another film which will leave you with a dismal face. But instead for the first time, Aditya Chopra looked for another actor to step into his ginormous shoes.
