They’ll take Manhattan: Barack Obama, daughters explore New York
On Friday night, Mr. Obama is scheduled to headline a Democratic fundraiser hosted by businessman George Logothetis and his wife, Nitzia.
Then, with the politics out of the way, the rest of Obama’s New York overnighter was set aside for time with his teenage daughters, Malia and Sasha.
President Obama raised almost $1 million for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and other Democrats’ re-election efforts in Manhattan Friday night at the uptown home of a British shipping magnate. The president was ushered to his aisle seat in Row K, the New York Times reported, as the audience applauded thunderously and snapped cellphone photos. On Saturday, the president and his daughters were joined by Obama’s sister Maya Soetoro-Ng and her husband Konrad Ng for a stroll in Central Park.
Traffic was a bit heavier in Midtown Saturday afternoon as President Barack Obama took his daughters to a Broadway show.

“That might interfere with the personal nature of the father-daughter time”, he quipped. “And so they’ll come in, pat me on the head, talk to me for 10 minutes, and then they’re gone all weekend”, Obama said to Marc Maron on a podcast interview in June. On Friday, Obama and the girls boarded the Air Force One, the President’s official and personal flight, and flew down from Washington to NYC. The rising high school senior has an internship on HBO’s Girls and has been spotted on set as they filmed the series on location in Brooklyn, according to the AP. But they said the visit, coming on a summer weekend, should not tie up traffic. New York is among the cities that get the most speculation.
