Thierry Henry says Pedro would be a good signing for Manchester United
Neymar’s illness could see Pedro Rodriguez’s move away from Barcelona and to Manchester United delayed until after the Super Cup fixtures.
The Spanish global has struggled to dislodge the trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, who have formed a brilliant understanding, and despite making 33 appearances in the La Liga last season, the Tenerife born player managed the full 90 minutes on just eight occasions.
Now we’ve had reports that Pedro to United is all done and the fact Angel di Maria has joined Paris St-Germain means Louis van Gaal would surely want to push through a deal for the Spaniard as soon as possible.
“No one was better at applying pressure from out wide”.
Speaking to TV3 and as reported by the Star, Bartomeu revealed that he doesn’t believe Pedro will leave the club this summer, despite continued speculation United could pay £22m to bring him in.
Louis van Gaal has already completed deals to sign Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero, all of whom featured in Man United’s opening day win over Tottenham.
“Angel Di Maria’s game was based on running free from the right or the left”, Henry wrote in The Sunday.
“Pedro knows those tactics, he can do what Van Gaal wants”.
“Pedro will be much more disciplined”.
“Pedro is generous in his defending, he can score goals and give plenty of assists”.
Following the transfer, Di María wrote an open letter thanking everyone from Manchester United and also apologizing because despite doing his best, it did not work out the way both sides wanted it to be.
“I loved him as a team-mate and he can have a real positive impact on the Premier League”.
