Thin is in again with new LG LCD TVs at CES 2016
The process of classification has begun and earlier this week at CES 2016, LG revealed its OLED 4K displays and said that the products exceed the specifications brought forward by the UHDA. The SUPER UHD TV models are said to offer higher color reproduction rate, advanced picture and sound-enhancing features including HDR (high dynamic range) and the company’s slim design.
The Korean giant is hoping to give best competition to its one-up TV rivals with both improved HDR colors and an 8K model.
The highlights of the lineup include: the 8600 Series of 4K UHD LED LCD TVs, featuring the 55- and 65-inch screen sizes.
They’ve got HDR-compatible HDMI ports and an SDR-to-HDR conversation engine called HDR Plus, which boosts content from any source with HDR-like contrast and brightness.
All of the LG Super UHD TV sets would be coming with a new, thinner than ever design. The UH8500 and UH8550 4K TVs also offer ColorPrime Plus, Billion Rich Colors, ULTRA Luminance and Contrast Maximizer technologies, but sport a different design language. In fact, the US5800 happens to be the latest TCL Roku TV model from the China company, being part of the company’s S-Series range, while the UP130 (which you can see above) happens to hail from the new P-Series televisions. The UH9500 also has harman/kardon sound and a Magic Sound Tuning feature that can tweak audio based on a room’s specific conditions.
LG’s newest television offerings will be on display from January 6 to 9 during the 2016 CES taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
TCL is the first Roku TV partner to announce a 4K UHD Roku TV, with multiple TCL models due to launch in spring.
As for the interface of the smart TVs delivered by LG, it is safe to assume that all of the company’s devices will offer the webOS 3.0, which is really easy to use, and it is preferred by the majority of smart TV owners. These innovative products include cell phones, flat screen TVs, laptop computers and home appliances.
Roku TV models receive software updates to deliver an always up-to-date streaming entertainment experience. Entering 2016, Roku TV is well positioned for growth as the company’s TV OEM partners are expected to introduce almost 60 Roku TV models. The company notes that it now has an eight percent market share for connected TVs, and one million homes had Roku TVs at the end of 2015.
