Things James Bond Needs to Do to be a Truly #SanskariJamesBond
The new James Bond flick Spectre has been cleared by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) with a “UA” certification, but only after four cuts, two verbal and two visual. The visuals are two kissing scenes in the film which have now been lessened to half.
Well, social media is quipping on this move: Has Censor Board measured how much length James Bond’s kiss is, that they asked to chop for 50%, asked many.
Star Daniel Craig’s amorous interactions with Bond girls Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux have been deemed “too excessive” by the country’s censor leading to the cuts reports theTimes of India. The same has been cut short by the CBFC owing to its length and intensity.
CBFC board member Ashoke Pandit opened up about this situation through a tweet stating, “Pahlaj Nihalani has always functioned on his own accord and I don’t subscribe to his curtailing of creative rights….”
Yet, for a few reason, Twitter had taken up arms against Censor Board for turning James Bond to Sanskari Bond! Nihalani’s action should not be a reflection of my choices. It is learnt that kisses has been deleted in the upcoming Bond film “Spectre” which will be released in India on Friday. Sony Pictures India did not offer any official comment on the censorship and neither did the Central Board of Film Certification.
