Things to Know About the iPhone 4s iOS 9.1 Update
On Wednesday, Apple rolled out the iPhone 4s iOS 9.1 update bring new emojis and key bug fixes to the aging former flagship.
The iPhone 4s iOS 9.1 update was confirmed in early September but the upgrade didn’t roll out to the public until last week.
In what appears to be a quick case of quid pro quo, within a few days of iOS 9 jailbreak threatening Apple devices, Apple acted fast and was able to close two of the many points used by the hacking team in China, Pangu, allowing the users to jailbreak all the devices running on iOS 9.0 to 9.0.2, including the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, reported San Jose Suntimes. The jailbreak didn’t seem to work with the beta version of 9.1 iOS software.
As for a proper iOS 9.1 jailbreak, Value Walk’s report states that the numerous security additions and slight alterations to iOS 9.1 are the current roadblocks in PanGu Team and TaiG’s efforts to jailbreak the OS.
PanGu Team has successfully been able to jailbreak iOS 9.0 to 9.0.2 but are still now working to jailbreak iOS 9.1, reports Value Walk.
However, if you are not a jailbreak user or don’t mind losing your jailbreak, and want to enjoy the latest offerings of iOS 9.1, then you should update to iOS 9.1.
In September, Apple confirmed the first major update to its iOS 9 operating system.
So before updating, launch iTunes on your computer and click on the “Back Up Now” button. If you are an iOS user, then you must already know how to do this. Apple didn’t confirm a release date ahead of time and the update emerged out of the blue for all iOS 9 powered devices.
Another way to update is to just use the Restore iPhone option, which will factory-wipe your iPhone and also update it to iOS 9.1.
Right now no one knows when the jailbreak of iOS 9.1 will arrive.
