Third installment in the Toy Soldiers series, War Chest, launching next month
Prepare for an overload of 80s nostalgia, as Ubisoft has officially revealed an August 11th release date for Toy Soldiers: War Chest.
Toy Soldiers: War Chest will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 11 August 2015. The standard edition, with just the four core armies, costs US$14.99.
The game will be available both digitally and physically at retailers.
These armies can also be purchased separately or together in a Legendary Heroes Pack.
As well as the four core, fictitious armies in War Chest – Ghost Company, Black Dragon, German Empire and Star Power – there will be four licensed armies available as downloadable content: G.I. Driven by valiant field administrator Duke and furnished with a munititions stockpile of weapons and flooding with battling soul, this group cooperates on the forefronts to leave fiendish speechless.
Enabled by the power of Grayskull is the Masters of the Universe army led by He-Man, The Most Powerful Man in the Universe.
Toy Soldiers: War Chest offers a hybrid blend of action strategy gameplay mixed with tower defense mechanics. The first game, Toy Soldiers, came out in 2010 for Xbox 360, and was followed by a critically acclaimed sequel, Toy Soldiers: Cold War in 2011. Joe, He-Man, Cobra Commander and Ezio, the latter of which is of course taken from the highly popular Assassin’s Creed series.
Ezio: Gifted with a prowess in parkour, stealth and charisma, Ezio and the Assassin’s brotherhood team up to create a fierce alliance of justice and protection. With a mix of brute force, advanced technology and fierce tenacity, the Cobra Commander army is a force to be reckoned with on the ground and in the skies.
