This Android tablet sounds like a gamer’s dream

At that price point, NVIDIA’s tablet should be one of the first that you look at when you’re shopping for a new Android tablet.
What’s different? The Shield Tablet K1 appears to have a slightly restyled outer shell. Although this may sound disappointing, these specs are still miles ahead of anything found in Android tablets in the same price range. NVIDIA has promised owners of the original SHIELD Tablet will be treated to Marshmallow as well, but no timeline is available yet. The stylus can be bought as a separate merchandise for $20, and so is the charger that is at $30. Gone, too, is the bundled charger: the Shield Tablet K1 is now supplied completely free from accessories, although can naturally be charged from any USB mains adapter through a standard micro-USB cable. Both Shield Tablet gizmos have Full HD 1920×1200 8-inch LCD screens. With the price drop, Amazon significantly reduced the performance of this tablet; and while it is thin and attractive, it is also painfully slow and quick to die. These are all capabilities targeted toward the gaming niche, to be sure, but at under $200 the tablet may be a more mainstream proposition than before.
You’ve also got 16GB of internal storage, bolstered by microSD card support for up to an additional 128GB.
A few months ago, Phone Arena listed down the year’s best tablets for mobile gaming. This is a device that I was so excited to get and so disappointed with this year.
Everything we said about the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet and NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet LTE remains true today for the K1 edition – save the bits about the stylus and the bits about the LTE connectivity. The other top-performing tablets were created to be “all-rounders”.
According to the tech giant’s official website, the 16 GB Wi-Fi only version of the K1, which is the only version that has been announced so far, is priced at $199.
Battery life sadly isn’t a strength of the Tablet K1, although it’s not particularly bad either. It packed with 19.75 Watt hour battery.
