This Church Is Actually Shaped Like a High-Heel Shoe
The architecture of the shoe-shaped-building, which is made out of 320 pieces of blue-tinted glass, has been created to intentionally target female worshippers.
Located in Ocean Park of Budai town, Taiwan, the slipper towers over buildings at 55 feet tall and 36 feet wide.
Inside the church there are reportedly “100 female-oriented features” including “chairs for lovers” which are “ideal for romantic photographs”.
But the shoe shape is not the only “female friendly” element they’ve included to attract more women.
“Now with the shiny structure, we hope to deliver a message of happiness to the people yearning for a bright future”, tourism spokesman Cheng Jung-feng told FocusTaiwan.
During the two months it took to build the glass shoe, many visitors were drawn to the construction site by its glittering exterior.
According to Huanqiu.com, the very large glass shoe you see above is actually a new church built in Chiayi, Taiwan, for the objective of bringing all the women to the congregation’s yard.
Reports say the church isn’t open for praying yet (the actual opening will happen ahead of the Chinese New Year in early February, the United Daily News reported).
The unique structure has grabbed worldwide attention, being featured, for example, in the Daily Mail in Britain.
