This Comedian’s Ellen DeGeneres Impression Is Scarily Accurate
Aren’t we all Ellen DeGeneres, on some level?
Ellen began her monologue by introducing McKinnon, explaining that the comedian has been known to do an impression of the talk-show host on SNL. “I’m Ellen, I got this blondie”, she quipped, immediately eliciting laughs from the audience. “I mean, it’s amusing, but it doesn’t sound like me at all, ‘” she continued.
Wrong, Ellen. She does sound like you – exactly like you. When DeGeneres denied that she talks that way, McKinnon cut to tape showing fake Ellen repeating the phrase over and over again. Kate McKinnon complicated these quandaries even further with her appearance on Ellen this morning.
When McKinnon finished her monologue, DeGeneres asked, “Well, Ellen, do you know what happens now?”
“Hi y’all. Happy Wednesday”. [Portia de Rossi] and I got a puppy and we named it Kid to make it sound like we have a kid. I love ’em! I love baby goats! Well, not really, but she did join the grand tradition of doing celebrity spoofs to the celebrity’s face. True story: “I once went on a ski vacation with a baby goat”. She also dished on sharing the SNL stage with Hillary Clinton previous year, calling the presidential candidate “so warm, so gracious [and] very amusing”.
“Of course I do”.
