‘This guy is super cool’: Japanese fisherman hauls in terrifying monster catch
Visibly straining as he holds it aloft, a Japanese fisherman grimaces as he proudly displays a terrifyingly large fish caught in the waters off Japan.
This gargantuan wolffish was caught by Japanese fisherman, Hirasaka Hiroshi off the coast of the island of Hokkaido.
Normally growing to about 1 metre, Hiroshi’s find measured closer to two metres.
In fact, this wolffish may be eaten itself by Hirasaka – who posted the photos on Twitter.
That is around 20 TIMES the usual size – and its gaping mouth is large enough to fit a small child inside.
Of his latest caught he wrote: “It was worth flying to Shiretoko [Hokkaido] twice within three months”. This guy is super cool, ‘ the Daily Star reported.
Wolffish are to be found on the ocean floors of the Atlantic and Pacific.

The fish was caught around 400 miles from the site of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, which has raised questions about the ecological impact.
The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant meltdown was triggered by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in 2011. Only last year, giant catfish were discovered near the site of a nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in Russia.
