Black Friday isn’t what it used to be, but if you’re going to head to a store anyway on that day, you can reduce the stress of shopping in crowded stores by strategically timing your visit.
Want to shop on Black Friday, but hate crowds? In fact, more stores become busier on the Saturday before Christmas than they do on Black Friday. According to Google’s data, Black Friday store traffic tends to peak in the afternoon for most stores, typically between 2 and 4 p.m. So in order to beat the traffic, consider an early morning trip, or better yet, a late-afternoon or even evening jaunt around the mall.
AdGooroo published the research Tuesday, reexamining paid-search activity for desktop on Black Friday keyword group running on Google. Or, put another way, Black Friday isn’t the biggest shopping day for many stores, and the Internet can still be helpful even when you’re not shopping online. So without further ado, here are a few pro tips from the folks at Google to help you do Black Friday better than you’ve ever done it before.
The search giant is opening up some of its trove of location data ahead of the busy retail weekend, launching a dedicated page where shoppers can see how busy stores are and check if an item is in stock via a search. “Make sure to be prepared, know what stores are going to remain open, know what stores you’re planning to visit”, said Rodriguez, “so nearly do like a little diagram of exactly what stores you’re going to visit when and have patience”.
Numerous coupons are same ones that you can find on a retailer’s site or that stores give out when you make a purchase, but the app gives you a central place to find them all. To redeem a coupon, all you have to do is pull it up on your phone and show it to the cashier. Well, you can. You do not need to be tech saavy shopper to get the best deals online. “With this insight, that toy store might invest in search terms that drive both online and offline sales, and display those products at the front of their store”. When you scan something, you’ll see the full product specs, photos and related products. It’s a great tool for quick comparison shopping while you’re away from home.
