This is the reason Emma Watson doesn’t take photos with fans
Now British actress Emma Watson has joined the stance, explaining that she won’t take any photos with fans through fear for her safety.
“For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life and not”, Watson said.
On success she adds: “I couldn’t care less if I won an Oscar or not if the movie didn’t say something that I felt was important for people to hear”.
“Books gave me a way to connect with my father”, she said.
However, her policy doesn’t mean being standoffish with fans as she revealed she’s happy to sit and chat with them and answer any questions about Harry Potter.
And now, she’s made a decision to continue her mission of privacy by denying photos with many people who ask – as she doesn’t want to risk an instant upload by the excited fan to expose her whereabouts. Watson admitted that she’s nothing like a typical celebrity and it makes her nervous. To reflect this, Emma worked with the costume designer to incorporate pockets in her costume that she says are “kind of like a tool belt”.
‘I would hate anyone that I were with to feel like they were in any way part of a show or an act’.
Still, Watson told Vanity Fair that on occasion she’ll instead offer an autograph or even, perish the very concept, a conversation. “You can’t have it both ways”. There have been moments through her career when she ‘shad to stop and ask if acting, which she loves, is worth the constant stress of being a public-facing star.
Ultimately, although we may lament the choice, Watson’s desire to protect her privacy is totally understandable.
“Ah, I hadn’t realised that feminism had a strict dress code”, quipped James Holt. They want me to take their pictures.
“I’d walk down the red carpet and go into the bathroom”. However, Watson shared that Belle has none of the characteristics as someone with Stockholm Syndrome, as she does keep her independence and freedom of thought throughout the film. I met people who read Harry Potter while they were fighting cancer.
