Thomas has 29, Anthony tossed as Celtics beat Knicks 115-87

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony was ejected from Friday night’s game against the Boston Celtics after receiving a double technical foul late in the first half. “So it’s tough but we gotta just sustain or whatever we need to while Jae is out”. “And we’ll get better”. What compelled you to issue the first technical and then the second?

“I thought it was two quick technicals, but what can I do at that point?”

The Knicks’ offense relied heavily on Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose in Anthony’s absence, but it wasn’t enough. Bradley can not give him any leeway, and he needs to make sure Teague is not able to get the Pacers into their most comfortable offense. “They have a history, I guess”.

Brandon Jennings was also ejected in Saturday’s game, but Jeff Hornacek managed to get through without getting a technical – despite persistent talking to the referee. The 52-year-old officiated the game between the Knicks and Celtics in 2014 when Anthony and Garnett almost brawled afterwards.

NY never led in the game, and trailed by as many 30 points in the fourth quarter. The Knicks for the first time did not score 100 points. “We wanted to play defense for one another and that’s what we did tonight. I’ll keep my mouth shut next time”.

Boston: Al Horford sat out for the fifth straight game due to National Basketball Association concussion protocol but did travel with the team on its two-game road trip. Boston shot 38.9 percent from field goal range and 40.7 percent from three-point land compared to New York’s 35.1 field goal percentage and 26.1 three-point percentage.
