Thomas Lemar ‘happy’ to stay after Arsenal move collapses
The Gunners made a late move for the France worldwide on Thursday, with a £90million bid reportedly accepted by the French outfit.
Arsenal do not have Champions League football to offer this season and have just been thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool in the Premier League.
As for Liverpool’s efforts to sign him, L’Equipe say Monaco somewhat messed the club around. The North London club have lodged a £90 million deadline day bid that would break the British transfer record.
According to reports on both sides of the Channel, the Reds have earmarked Lemar as a prime target before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.
The Monaco winger has been linked with Arsenal for much of the summer, while recent reports have also claimed approaches from Liverpool and Barcelona.

But despite agreeing a fee with Monaco, Wenger revealed on live television on Friday evening that Arsenal were unable to lure Lemar to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal, however, resisted the changing transfer market and refused to pay Lemar’s inflated ransom, something Liverpool could yet again make them look fools for.
Speaking after his starring role for France in Paris, 21-year-old Lemar affirmed his delight at staying with the club he originally joined in 2015.
