Threat for Severe Weather Late Saturday Afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Washtenaw County at 11:19 p.m. Sunday night. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS and visit kniakrls.com for the latest weather information.
Temperatures will dip throughout the week, with highs in the low to mid-80s Monday and Tuesday, followed by temperatures in the 70s through Friday.
Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division asked everyone to prepare just incase if a severe weather out break does occur. An isolated tornado or two can not be ruled out.
The storm warnings extend into the early evening, with the greatest risk of thunderstorms before 8 p.m. Severe thunderstorms often can and do spawn tornadoes!
Saturday had some storms, but they fizzled out and the severe thunderstorm watch for western and central Minnesota was removed. Areas to the west and south of Rockford have a lower threat for severe weather, but strong storms are still definitely possible. Storms will then progress east across Iowa during the overnight hours.
