The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUD) shut down schools across the county this Tuesday after members of the School Board received a threatening email that referenced explosive devices, assault rifles, nerve gas, and machine pistols.
Sanchez did not know the specifics of the threat that caused the LAUSD shutdown. He says it’s not usual for there to be a threat to the entire school district.
“I don’t think [the district] takes it seriously”, she said.

Officials in Plainfield, Indiana, on their website said: “A threat has been directed to the high school, and the safety and security of all students is our highest priority”, adding that they are working with public safety officials in what is an ongoing investigation.
Janette Sainz, a 38-year-old mother of a special needs student, told the Press-Telegram she’s thankful her son’s classes aren’t in session at Bobbie Smith Elementary School.
Thursday also marked the end of the semester for Danville students.
RTV6 in Indianapolis reports that authorities arrested two Danville students, both boys, for allegedly making death threats against classmates at Danville Community High School.
