Three children hurt in Dodge County rollover crash
Five people, including three young children, were hurt Sunday in a rollover crash in Dodge County, with two of the children flown by helicopter to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment.
A 30-year-old driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated after crashing a auto and injuring three children and one adult Sunday night, according to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. Preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle was northbound on I-41 when the driver entered the west side gravel shoulder. The vehicle came to a rest on its wheels.
The man driving, and the woman passenger, both suffered minor injuries. Two of the children were ejected, despite there being childrens’ auto seats in the vehicle. A three-year-old was also transported by Flight for Life to Children’s with life-threatening injuries. The third child, a 1-year-old, was transported by the Fond du Lac Paramedics to Children’s Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
