Three Killed At Oklahoma State Homecoming Parade
The scene unfolded around 10:30 a.m.at an intersection two blocks from the stadium where, hours later, Oklahoma State secured a lopsided victory over the University of Kansas in the homecoming football game. About half of them had been released by Saturday evening.
It is suspected the women may have been driving under drunken condition.
She first hit a police officer’s motorcycle and then rammed her auto into the parade-goers packed on a street corner. Six children were among those hospitalized.
The vehicle crashed through barricades and struck an unmanned police motorcycle before ploughing into spectators. A vehicle reportedly drove directly into the crowd near the end of the parade route.
In addition to the four deaths, more than 30 were injured.
Gibbs said it could take several days to get more information about the cause of the accident.
Konda Walker, of Anchorage, Alaska, was attending the festivities ahead of the homecoming game between Oklahoma State and Kansas.
A woman who answered a call to a phone number listed for Floyd Chambers told The Associated Press no one was available to talk.
Floyd Cambers, Adacia’s father, told The Oklahoman he couldn’t believe his daughter was involved in the deadly wreck. She was taken into custody, and Gibbs said investigators were awaiting the results of blood tests to determine if she was impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The driver, identified by police as Adacia Chambers, was charged with driving under the influence. The school identified her as Nikita Nakal.
OSU tweeted about the incident, writing, “Oklahoma State University is saddened by the tragic parade incident earlier this morning”.
