Three People Dead After Vehicle Crash, Fire on Hwy 427
According to CP24, the emcee born Shane Redway, along with three other people, fell victim to a tragic auto accident earlier today (August 1) in the Greater Toronto Area.
It happened on the ramp from northbound Highway 427 to westbound Highway 401 at around 4 a.m.
Redway and two others were killed when their vehicle lost control, struck a guardrail and burst into flames.
Two people were found dead in the auto and one was pulled out of the vehicle for resuscitation. She was taken to hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Passersby tried to resuscitate the woman after they pulled her out of the vehicle. The Honda Accord was licensed to a person who has been accounted for and was not in the vehicle.
The CHAMP Management agency has emailed a statement to the Canadian Press, identifying the male victim as an aspiring Toronto Rapper, Shane Redway.
Redway is being remembered by artists in the community like Drake.
Redway was reportedly spotted at the OVO Bounce basketball tournament last night in Toronto and tweets from the rapper’s account appear to confirm this.
There has been an outpouring of support on Twitter for the 26-year-old Mississauga rapper.
The statement says Redway’s family has asked for privacy during this time of mourning.
Eric Quach was at the scene of the crash Saturday morning and tried to help but said “there was nothing we could do”.
The ramp is now closed as police continue their investigation.
