Three Syrian soldiers die in suspected US coalition strike: Monitoring group
Four Syrian army soldiers were killed and some 13 were wounded in a US-led coalition airstrike in Syrias Deir ez-Zor province, sources told local media early on Monday.
At least four Syrian troops were killed while another 16 injured in an alleged airstrike of western coalition airstrike in Dier al Zor province of war-torn Middle East country. The monitor said the strikes had hit a camp in the west of Deir Ezzor, around two kilometres (one mile) from an area controlled by the Islamic State group.
An eastern province in Syria, Deir al-Zor represents a key link for Isis between its Raqqa stronghold and territories in Iraq.
France has also stepped up its strikes in Syria since IS claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks in Paris last month.
And German lawmakers on Friday approved plans to join the military action against the group in Syria.
“The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns this flagrant aggression by the US-led coalition forces, which blatantly violates the objectives of the UN charter”, the foreign ministry said in a letter to the UN Security Council and secretary general.
Russia, a staunch Assad ally, began its strikes with the government’s permission and has coordinated its raids with regime forces.
The observatory also said that a woman and two children were killed in another air attack by the US-led coalition in the city of Deir Ezzor overnight. IS accused the activist of “collaborating with the Crusader coalition” after discovering broadcasting equipment during a raid on his home, the Observatory said.
