Tiger Woods accepts his playing career might be over

After all, this is Tiger Woods we’re talking about. I want to see Tiger down the last nine holes with the big guns, with Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day.

When Woods’s role was announced two weeks ago it was assumed he might, in theory, at least, make the team.

Woods hasn’t swung a golf club since his operations in September and October.

Tiger Woods recently sat down for a sort of tell-all interview with Time’s Lorne Rubenstein.

“Put it this way”.

“Having the relationship that I have now with her is fantastic”, he said.

Woods said his daughter found him lying helpless on the ground and had to go fetch help for her father. We both know that the most important things in our lives are our kids. “I can’t stand it. But also comfortable enough where you can wear flip-flops, which I like”. That to me is special. “It’s fun. She talks to me about her life, I talk to her about my life”, he said.

Big Cat spoke to the media at the Hero World Challenge on Tuesday in what was one of the most somber press conferences I’ve ever seen from him. Woods painted an even bleaker picture of his current day-to-day. “It’s not what I want to have happen, and it’s not what I’m planning on having happen”, Woods said. “I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I’ll just tell them the real story”.

In the wake of Bryant’s recent announcement, Woods reflected, “You add up all those games, it takes a toll on the body”.

“But I can assure you one thing”. The couple date for three years before calling it quits earlier this year. He acknowledged that he should have been more honest with Nordegren about their relationship, their mutual frustrations and that transparency may well have saved their marriage.

The interview also covers Woods’ golf career, now in decline because of back injuries, and the end of his long-distance relationship with skier Lindsey Vonn. I was to blame, and so I’m taking initiative with the kids. What am I going to do, go bass fishing?

“He’s lost three or four years career to injury and hopefully this is not it. I don’t think it’s it. “He still has one of the best minds in the game”. I can’t imagine not being able to do that as I get older.

He says he is doing a lot of walking, and plays video games to pass the time.But while Finchem might have thought the reports of Woods’ demise were overplayed, it was the golfer himself who fueled them.

However, when speaking to Rubenstein, Woods clarified that the poster wasn’t of Nicklaus’ 18 majors, and that it didn’t serve to motivate him to beat the record, but to constantly achieve feats as he got older. He has to figure out a way to be OK with not reaching Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18, the goal he had on his wall above his bed since he was a kid.
