Tiger Woods Gave Derek Jeter Some Golf Advice Before PGA Tour Return

Here’s what the designer had to say about his creation prior to the off a year ago.

Woods must feel like an old geezer watching the way the young professional golfers tinker. On the first trip, Woods played nine holes, then nine the next day, 12 the next and 15 the next. He plans to be in the Bahamas, and he is as eager as anyone else to see how a guy who won 79 times on the PGA Tour, including 14 majors, stacks up against a generation that grew up in awe of how Woods played golf.

“It was a smart decision in the end to pull out of the tournaments. So setting up my business entities is going to take a load off my shoulders in that regard, so that I’m able to devote more time to my golf”. I’m sitting here in front of you guys with a different reality because things have improved so much that I’m able to come back here and do this again.

“I know Bubba (Watson) shot 25-under a year ago”, added Woods of a robust standard that should be set in a stellar 18-man field for this 72-hole, no-cut shoot-out.

He teamed up with Rose, who has been a resident on the exclusive Albany estate for two and a half years, former New York Yankees baseball legend Derek Jeter and fellow World Series victor Tino Martinez. He was also pain free. “And it is good to be that way”, Woods said during his interaction with the media. “The two again caught it and before I could catch it again, I ran away to be here”, he said with a chuckle.

A few places ahead is a 23-year-old French amateur who has only entered three ranking events, winning on the Alps Tour Golf but missing the cut at the European Tour’s Alstom Open de France in 2015.
