Timberwolves’ Kevin Garnett gets 2 more years
This will be Garnett’s 21st season, which ties him with Robert Parish and Kevin Willis for the most all-time in National Basteball Association history.
Nagging injuries limited Garnett to just five games after the trade, but Timberwolves fans will get plenty of “The Big Ticket” when he returns for a 21st National Basteball Association season.
Garnett was reunited with the Timberwolves last season in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
Garnett is a free agent this summer, but there was never any real doubt that he would leave the Timberwolves. Each player on Minnesota’s roster will benefit from Garnett’s teachings.
From the moment he entered the league in 1995 directly out of high school, Garnett has enforced his own, revolutionary style of basketball. The team also signed No. 24 overall pick, Duke point guard Tyus Jones (whom they traded for on draft night) to a rookie contract. His range as a power forward and ability to dribble the ball was unheard of at the time. Now, it looks like his National Basteball Association tenure will end in the same place it started. Now 39-years-old, Garnett is a 15-time All-Star, and 4-time All-NBA First Team member. Today, Garnett officially re-upped with the Wolves for two more seasons, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. While Garnett isn’t an impact player at 39 years old, he can still contribute off the bench as he plays out his career in Minnesota.
