Timberwolves: Kris Dunn scores 27 points in NBA Summer League debut
“The one thing that is concerning about him is that he had a hard time getting open”.
If you missed it over the weekend, Timberwolves rookie point guard Kris Dunn already looks like he doesn’t belong in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Murray has only scored 20 points in two games.
Wade Baldwin IV was the only player for the Grizzlies (1-1) to score in double figures, finishing with a team-high 10 points and four rebounds, along with a minus-27 rating.
Third-year forward Adreian Payne had 17 points and 5 rebounds in 34 minutes.
Dunn had 7 fouls in his 34 minutes of play. He shot 8 of 18 from the field, and added 4 of 8 from the 3-point line in the Nuggets’ big win. The 6-10 Simmons added three rebounds and two assists.
Kelly Oubre Jr. led the Wizards with 21 points. He shot 2-11 in his second game against the Grizzles where he also committed five turnovers.
BROWN’S BACK: The draft’s No. 3 overall pick Jaylen Brown played on Saturday against the Chicago Bulls, scoring nine points on 3-of-13 shooting. It was his first action since Monday, when he hyperextended his right knee in his first summer league game. Noah Vonleh led the Blazers with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Second-year guard Norman Powell scored 29 for Toronto. With contributions from most of their team, the Denver Nuggets were able to obliterate the Memphis Grizzles, 106-62. He finished with 22 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ Ingram struggled early, but hit a few shots in the fourth quarter to finish with seven points and four rebounds. DeAngelo Russell made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lead the Lakers over the 76ers 70-69.
