Time Running Out to Register to Vote in Virginia Election
The Virginia Department of Elections launched its new Citizen Portal Wednesday, which allows voters to apply for an absentee ballot online.
Starting Wednesday, Virginia residents who need to vote absentee can apply for an absentee ballot online. The qualifying reasons are available through the citizen portal at http://elections.virginia.gov.
Requests for an absentee ballot by mail must be submitted to the voter’s local registration office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27th.
Absentee voting is underway in the City of Falls Church for the upcoming General Election on November. 3. “The Department of Elections is pleased to offer the convenience and security of online voter registration to help make voter registration more accessible for our citizens”.
The online system also can be used to check registration status and update voter information.
Absentee ballot applications may be hand-delivered, mailed, faxed, or emailed to their local voter registration office.
They can also see what their ballot will look like and get other election-related information.
