Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Bring Back Infamous Palin/Clinton Impressions to SNL
“Tina & Amy’s Dope Squad” is a pitch-perfect parody of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video.
The dynamic duo – whose new movie “Sisters” opened in theaters this week – donned familiar costumes to reprise two of their most notable impressions from their time in the show’s cast: Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.
Perhaps because the Sisters stars didn’t want to be sharing the spotlight with anybody from The Force Awakens or various other end-of-year releases, the only other guest cameo was the it-hardly-even-counts appearance by Darrell Hammond as Donald Trump.
During this final number, Fey and Poehler joined in wearing Santa hats.
With party poopers like the wonderful Maya Rudolph, you know you’ve come to the right place.
Just hours after Hillary Clinton once again faced off against Bernie Sanders at the Dem Debate, “Hillary Clinton” was greeted by “2008 Hillary Clinton” in a hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch that found former SNL cast member Amy Poehler reprising her Clinton impression alongside the cast’s current “Hillary”, Kate McKinnon. As Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Colin Jost and Michael Che all said goodnight, Che kicked his feet up on the desk, revealing he wears sneakers with his sport coat.
If you liked this edition of Weekend Update, the rest of the night was equally rambunctious, with aforementioned performances from Bruce Springsteen, his band and his pal Paul McCartney. They also sang a Christmas song, “Merry Christmas baby”, to show how much they love this holiday.
SNL will return January 16 with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Girls star Adam Driver as host.
But Clinton of 2008 also had a stark warning for her future self: Don’t too cocky about her poll numbers. Hearing this 2016 Clinton grabs the phone out of her hands and smashes it. “Trust me”.
What was your favorite moment of the night with SNL hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?
