Sunday night, the winning actors and actresses were revealed for the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards.
In the Best Foreign Movie category Hungarian Holocaust drama Son of Saul won the award.
“And as I was about to leave the hotel to come to the red carpet I realized that actually [my neck] has been hurting quite a lot all day so I went and booked a massage for 9 p.m., which I think I am going to have to cancel”, Winslet said.
The first victor of the evening was Kate Winslet, who took the Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a film for her role in the biopic Steve Jobs.
Sipping from a small glass of beer, he told the crowd: “If you do win tonight remember nobody cares about that award as much as you do, don’t get emotional, it’s embarrassing”.
Sorkin was up against big writers like Quentin Tarentino (“The Hateful Eight”) and Charles Randolph and Adam McKay (“The Big Short“) for Best Screenplay.
In an interview on Entertainment Tonight, Leo praised Kate, saying he would love to work with her again. “So shocked! I’m never ever going to get used to it. I’m standing here, thinking really this is not happening. I hope you’re having a good time because we are”.
“I really am so shocked, right now”, the Steve Jobs actress said, still reeling from the win, shiny new statuette in hand. The movie was also nominated for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama” and “Best Original Score – Motion Picture” but those awards went to Leonardo DiCaprio and Ennio Morricone.
For best actress in a drama, the nominees are Blanchett and her Carol co-star Rooney Mara, Brie Larson for Room, Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn and Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl. He was laughing hard as she hugged him.
