Titans and Marcus Mariota Face Challenge vs Playoff Minded New York Jets
Todd Bowles has said about the paid: “They’re both good football players”.
The Seahawks have been on a roll of late, partially because of the play from Russell Wilson and the passing game in Seattle. On Sunday, the former Oregon Ducks Quarterback will face a more experienced Offense and a team in the New York Jets that can find the end zone.
The only negative news from the day came elsewhere, as the two teams the Jets are battling for playoff spots – the Steelers and Chiefs – also won.
“That’s the media talking, it’s a trap game”, Richardson said.
A big reason has been the play of Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker this season. While he hasn’t eclipsed 100 yards in the last five games, Gurley still was able to find the end zone three times in that stretch. I think the last couple of weeks the defenses have given me opportunities to run around a little bit. Chris Ivory is being used less now that Bilal Powell is fully healthy and is a more talented pass-catcher out of the backfield.
It was 27-0 at haftime, and remarkably, could’ve been more lopsided, the Jets settling for two Randy Bullock field goals of 47 and 27 yards. McBride has yet to catch a pass in three games this season and is questionable with an abdomen injury. Marcus Mariota has played like a future franchise quarterback should play and has been handling the offense quite well. Inexperience will most likely hurt the Titans chances of victory, but having insider knowledge of the opposing quarterback and having players who are playing for their contract on defense, it should be a more interesting game than what each teams record would suggest. But now Wright appears not only to have fallen behind Walker, but also behind rookie receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who is beginning to emerge after a slow start. The run game has been downright abysmal, even with David Cobb’s return to the line up.
From Paul Kuharsky: Everything is open to question following a miserable showing in the Titans’ 30-8 loss to the New York Jets.
The Jets are a good defensive team, overall.
And if we’re putting a positive spin on things, the Titans’ almost catching Marshall just shows how athletic they are. Bailey has played well when asked to suit up, recording 18 total tackles, half of a sack, and two passes defended. The Titans are going places people.
Marcus Mariota is coming off of one of his best performances of the year, completing 69 percent of his passes for 268 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against Jacksonville last Sunday.
