Titans trade wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham to Eagles
He wasn’t receiving much attention at the start of camp, but has come on strong over the last few weeks. He comes in with an opportunity.
Shipping an offensive lineman off doesn’t help the issues the Eagles have at that position group. If not, then this trade could end up coming back to haunt Philadelphia as Kelly was considered a vital piece in the Eagles’ offensive line depth.
Dorial Green-Beckham didn’t feel a cause to be uncomfortable. Green-Beckham will travel with the team to Pittsburgh, but he won’t play.
“Someone’s got to step up”. Making a big splash to get another receiver might suggest the latter is more likely. “But we also felt that because of where we are from a pick standpoint going forward that we have to take some chances to increase the talent level”.
That’s the hope here.
Upon his dismissal from Missouri, Green-Beckham made a decision to transfer to Oklahoma but never played a game for the Sooners after the NCAA denied a waiver for his request to be eligible immediately.
Green-Bechham played two seasons at Missouri, catching 59 balls for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games. In addition to that, he was known for sloppy route-running, poor footwork and a questionable work ethic. That’s in the classroom. “I’d do it more”. According to Roseman, the Philadelphia Eagles have officially hired Brian Dawkins in a full-time role. Join the Inside the Iggles team! Roseman believes that players like one-time Eagle Michael Vick can put their troubles in the rearview and succeed in the right environment. “It’s on all of us to rally around these guys and give them the support system”.
I guess you could say Tennessee had seen enough and didn’t want to take that risk anymore. He’s going to help in player development.
This is part of the long-range plan Roseman and the Eagles are putting in place.
“Obviously, he’s made mistakes, but he’s a good-hearted kid”. Maybe Green-Beckham understands just how quickly the landscape can change in the NFL.
The Titans are pleased with their wide receiver corps, using rookie Tajae Sharpe and offseason acquisition Rishard Matthews ahead of Green-Beckham with the first-team offense.
Kelly has started 15 of 30 games as a fifth-round pick in 2012. He started two games previous year for Philadelphia at right tackle and spent time with the second-team offense at both tackle and guard during training camp.
For sure, there is some competition at wide receiver on this roster now.
Rueben Randle doesn’t know the newest Eagle, either. Adding Green-Beckham makes things seem a little better though.
