Titans vs. Jets 2015 live stream
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (8) catches a pass during the second half of an NFL football game against the New York Jets Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, in East Rutherford, N.J. Mariota scored a touchdown on the play.
Mariota (21-of-39 for 274 yards with a two-point conversion pass to running back Dexter McCluster) was sacked five times, including three times by Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson. The biggest highlight of the day for the Titans was a 41-yard touchdown catch by quarterback Marcus Mariota.
The Jets have a strong secondary and it will test Tennessee’s pass-heavy offense. Meanwhile, the Titans are looking for consecutive wins for the first time since the last two games of the 2013 regular season.
And this time, Fitzpatrick and Marshall caught a defense sleeping and not set, something quarterbacks and receivers often dream about but rarely ever have time to practice. Calvin Pryor tripped on the play, leaving Mariota wide open. CB Buster Skrine blanketed TE Delanie Walker (seven catches for 71 yards), who is Mariota’s lone reliable weapon. Several Titans players were drifting toward their sideline, frantically asking coaches for instructions.
“It was a good throw today”, Mularkey said of Andrews’ pass. “It was a better throw than he threw during the week”. “When we did it game speed, it worked”. Mariota lined up wide right as Andrews went behind center in the Wildcat formation. “Antonio made a great throw”. “I played receiver growing up, and had experience in high school as a receiver”. Since the infamous shaving of the beard after the Texans game, Fitzpatrick has thrown for nine touchdowns and more importantly zero interceptions.
Jets kicker Randy Bullock was nearly ideal on the afternoon, tallying 12 points on three extra points, while going three for four on field goals, including a long of 47 yards.
It’s the second straight week that a Jets player has taken the honors.
As head coach Todd Bowles said, “it’s a one-game season now”.
“We can have a little pity party, or we can rally together …”, Mularkey said.
Tennessee won the game against the Jaguars, but the team has been relegated to the role of spoiler as their 3-9 record will not get them to the Playoffs this season.
Powell took a short pass from Fitzpatrick and slipped and zipped his way into the end zone for a 16-yard touchdown that made it 20-0.
So interim coach Mike Mularkey said Monday the Titans (3-10) have two choices after being routed 30-8 by the Jets. Searcy later left with a hamstring injury.
Some of the biggest gains have been in the communication between Fitzpatrick and Brandon Marshall. “They are huge up front”, Bowles said of the Titans’ rookie linemen.
“Well, that was not good”, Mularkey said in opening his postgame press conference. “This is the week for veterans to really step up and put their foot on the pedal and push everybody because Dallas is going to give us their best shot”. We’re in the playoffs right now trying to win each week.
It certainly looked like the Jets pulled a Jedi mind trick on the unsuspecting Titans when quarterback hit Marshall for the 69-yard strike that pushed the Jets ahead 27-0 with 1:35 remaining in the first half. He ordered several copies – one for the quarterback and one each for some of the wide receivers. “There are salary-cap issues and things involved in what we can and can”t do,”” Bowles said.
