Title says it all on Syfy’s ‘Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!’

The “So stupid it’s funny” mentality is tested and then some by “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” which, like “The Second One”, appears to have exhausted most of its ingenuity in dreaming up the subtitle. I just adore them – they’re like my little brothers. “You know I’m going to run really fast, and they’re like ‘Yeah.’ Anthony’s insane”. “Haven’t we seen that?’ ”.
It airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Syfy as the latest in what, before now, was settling into a much-anticipated summer TV rite.
“Syfy had this title”. Levin isn’t getting ahead of himself just yet. Sharing the near-death experience on the HollywoodLife podcast, Ian told the story of when he made the ill-fated decision to go shark diving in California and, in his words, “it was pretty damn scary”. Not any more.
“It’s three times the shark, three times the ‘nados, and 100 percent more Hoff”, he said. “And if I can do it that way, I’m in”. Of course, the fish go on a killing spree (because it’s no fun if they don’t), eventually making their way to the Florida coast.
Ziering calls it a campy science-fiction movie done with a very low budget.
But none of those hooked the public’s imagination the way “Sharknado” did.
When Sharknado 3 premieres on SyFy on July 22, we will once again see star Ian Ziering fend off Great Whites and a ton of other vicious sharks.

In the brilliantly titled “Sharknado 2: The Second One“, the now-reconciled Fin and April are visiting New York City on their book tour (“How to Survive a Sharknado”) when – wouldn’t you know it – a sharknado touches down. But Monday night you can catch “3 Headed Shark Attack”, which is just what it sounds like, followed by the inevitable merging of two popular television genres in “Zombie Shark“.

In “Sharknado 3“, the entire Eastern Seaboard from Washington to Orlando, Fla. Alas, those ominous storm clouds mean his chainsaw-wielding work isn’t done, and before it’s over, he’s re-joined by Nova (Cassie Scerbo), who was featured in the first film; and reunited with his dad (David Hasselhoff), a former astronaut who adds an “Armageddon”-type riff to the festivities”. In the meantime, those flying sharks are opening up doors in Hollywood. When the first Sharknado film premiered in 2013, it was so bad that it was good – becoming an instant hit on social media, thanks in no small part to genre actors like Wil Wheaton live-tweeting the event.
“I wanted to make sure the Secret Service knew what we were doing here… because there was never any communication here that I saw (between producers and authorities), and they said, “Oh yeah, don’t worry”.
