TLC docu features Brit man born without a male genital
Now in his 40s he is ready to undergo surgery again, but this time to get a penis. While one man might be suffering from being too well-endowed-a 19-inch penis will do that-another might not be endowed at all, like Andrew Wardle. People has recently reported on this new special about Wardle and what his experience has been like without having a penis for his entire life.
Andrew was born with bladder exstrophy – a condition where his bladder forms outside his body. While he had surgery as a child to reinsert his bladder, it did nothing to build a penis. “It is hard to explain to a new girlfriend”.
Andrew told his story on TV channel TLC but previously only revealed his secret to family and a handful of trusted friends. Once, I was punched in the face when I told a girl. Wardle says that she is “on board 100%”.
In a recent interview, Wardle said the past 30 years have been tough.
Manchester, England-based Andrew met Fedra, 24, who is from Hungary, in a hotel and the two began a long-distance relationship, making it easy to avoid sex. She happily accepted their sexless relationship for a year.
He has lived with the secret for 40 years, but now there is real hope that doctors can fashion him a fully-working organ – using muscle and skin grafted from his arm. Not surprisingly, she was shocked and angry when she found out. Now, she knows, and he says she is okay with it all. This will give viewers a chance to meet Andrew Wardle and get to know his story.
The “Radial Forearm Flap Phalloplasty” is a series of four surgeries in which doctors will use parts of his forearm to create a penis.
Wardle says he has struggled with depression, substance abuse and at one point even contemplated suicide because of his condition.
Despite initially refusing to talk to Fedra about his condition even after publicly coming clean and suggesting they break up, Wardle eventually opened up to his girlfriend, and she is standing by him through the surgeries and his road to recovery.
