To-Dos and Reminders Come to Google Calendar
Anyway, I obviously think combining to-dos (or “tasks”) with your calendar is the way to go, and now Google is on board too. A few days ago I was thinking about how to add reminders to my Google Calendar.
Reminders are meant to serve as a user’s to-do list, sitting alongside Calendar events.
Google acknowledges that many Google Calendar users already use events for this type of functionality, or they have a to-do list that is separate from their Google Calendar. Or if your hands are full, you can record your Reminders in Google Now一like, “Ok Google, remind me to buy birthday candles ” 一then mark it as done later in Calendar.
In an effort to make Google Calendar even better at managing your day, Google is adding support for Reminders to its app. These reminders will stay on your calendar until they’re actually done, so if you don’t get a task completed on a certain day, it’ll stay on your calendar and appear as part of the next day so that you keep in mind to complete it.
“Another way Reminders are more useful than events is that Calendar adds things like phone numbers and addresses automatically”, Umapathy adds.
An update is rolling out this week on both Android and iOS to enable the feature, but Google plans to include it in the web version of Google Calendar as well.
Your Google Calendar is getting a new feature this week – reminders. If you choose reminder, you can then set a reminder for a to-do that needs taken care of.
You can download Google Calendar from the App Store for free.
