Today’s News: Melrose Place Is Lifetime’s Next “Unauthorized” Movie Victim
According to The Hollywood Reporter the Lifetime movie will center around “early casting drama and Locklear arriving to save “Melrose Place” to the actors begging its writers for even wilder storylines to make them fan favorites”.
We might still be weeks away from feasting our eyes on the trainwreck that will be The Unauthorized Full House Story but that isn’t stopping Lifetime from prepping yet another behind the scenes tale.
Its large cast featured, among other notables, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Josie Bissett, Doug Savant, Grant Show, Andrew Shue, Heather Locklear and Marcia Cross (later to star in “Desperate Housewives“). The show followed the lives of a group of young adults living in an apartment complex called Melrose Place, in Los Angeles, California. Cross’ revealing “wig scene” still ranks as one of TV’s most surprising scenes.
After creating buzz with its campy “Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story” previous year, Lifetime has continued to tap hit ’90s shows for their behind-the-scenes drama.
No airdate for the “Unauthorized Melrose Place Story” has been announced at this time. Mark Griffiths (A Novel Romance) is set to direct.
