Toddler stuns doctors after surviving near-drowning
“She all of the sudden had color and pink lips”, Jamie said, via KFVS.
Back to life… Alise Nipper has returned to the pool despite her traumatic experience.
In a complete state of panic, she searched the pool until she caught sight of Alise and pulled her from the water.
Ms. Nipper jumped into the pool and began to shout “Call 911”.
Her father Chris said the family were grateful to have their daughter safe.
Alise was rushed to hospital with serious lung and body trauma.
Alise was attending a pool party with her mother, Jamie Nipper, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on July 29, when she “drowned” in the pool apparently because she was not wearing a life jacket when she entered the water.
“Her heart started and she started breathing, it was strong loud breaths”, said Ms. Nipper.
Doctors feared she would have sustained severe brain damage common in drowning accidents, but after a stay in the intensive care unit, she regained full consciousness within a week.
But the whole family was shocked as the child rapidly began to recover after only six days in the hospital. Not only did she recover from the accident, but she returned to the pool only two months later.
When she was transported to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, doctors there were also feeling hopeless. Our prayers to bring life to our daughter and for her to receive a full recovery included a promise to tell everyone what He had done.
“His [God’s] hand was in it the entire time because there is no earthly, physical, rational way that little girl is running around and talking less than two weeks later”, said Rowles. “Prayer and luck and divine intervention were the key factors”.
Jamie updated it often, giving everyone a chance to digitally walk alongside her family on Alise’s journey.
“The day we left it was surreal, I felt like I can’t believe we lived through this”, said Jamie Nipper.
Due to excessive medical expenses, there was originally a GoFundMe page set up for Alise.
“I’m thankful every night”.
Her mother was determined to spread her story to urge others to learn CPR.
“Her body and her brain were hurt”, said Doctor Jeremy Garrett, explaining that he was unable to give the Nipper parents much hope.
