Tom Brady “pissed off” by New England Patriots’ defeat to Denver Broncos
“I saw the TV copy, there was one hit he took, I saw his whole face looking like this”, Anderson said, scrunching his nose.
The Broncos became the first team since 2004 to beat two teams with records of 6-0 or better, in the same season.
However, the week leading up to the game was anything but exciting.
NBC made sure nobody had forgotten about Denver’s other signal caller, Papa John’s pitchman Peyton Manning, and the history of this rivalry. Manning has more rehab work to do after taking the cast off with a partially-torn plantar fascia tendon and that could keep him out until the last couple weeks of the season or the playoffs depending on how he recovers.
Tom Brady is over being pissed off. Not only has the running threat improved under Osweiler – 175 yards a game compared to 86 when Manning was the QB – but the Broncos’ passing game has improved, too.
Manning was sacked 15 times in 34 quarters.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has revealed that he has never been more annoyed by a defeat than his side’s overtime loss to the Denver Broncos.
What I don’t believe is that he should play for the Broncos again this season. Broncos lead the series, 60-49-1.
The 25-year-old will start in place of Manning in San Diego this Sunday. Manning played poorly a week later in a 29-13 loss to the Chiefs, going 5 of 20 for just 35 yards and four interceptions before being benched in favor of Brock Osweiler. As the snow fell a little harder and the temperatures dropped even more, Brock Osweiler helped put together 2 miraculous drives. His 62.3 completion percentage rating is above the league average which is 61.3 and his 7.54 yards per attempt is also above the league average.
But those that cover the team on a daily basis, from those of us here at Mile High Sports to our friends at Mile High Report to the Denver Broncos themselves, have been everything from skeptical to outright opposing of Cole’s report.
Manning said he had not spoken to Broncos coach Gary Kubiak about traveling to San Diego this weekend. One potential problem the inexperienced quarterback has is getting rid of the ball. And everybody says, ‘Well, when did he say you’re going to get better?’ When it heals.
No one really knows when it’s time to replace a legend, but Denver will have to answer that question when Peyton is healthy.
The end of an era is always bittersweet. He has the best teacher in the world in Peyton Manning and is on a roll. We compiled the most egregious for you on Monday and, suffice it to say, Patriots nation has a legitimate beef on at least two of these calls.
