Tom Brady saw Darrelle Revis wincing during Sunday’s game
The hits keep on coming for the Patriots.
“Playing against the Patriots, you don’t have to play the flawless game, but you can’t make mistakes”, Fitzpatrick said. “Once you start the clock, when the clock ends you either have to obviously activate him or put him out for the year. I’ll keep giving him opportunities”.
Brady didn’t pick on Revis all game, but did say it appeared Revis was played banged up.
It’s not known when or how Brady injured the knee. He made a great catch. Of all the Patriot’s worries, including injuries, this has to be the biggest worry.
Hogan hauled in a 25-yard pass, getting open inside the Jets 10-yard line just before the two-minute warning, setting up the eventual winning touchdown. We missed plenty of plays early and then got into a little bit of a dogfight. “It’s awesome. I’ve never been around anyone as confident as he is”. That’s who I am. Like I said, they all work hard. You have to fight your way through a long season.
Mitchell kept doing what he could, and came away with the game-winning touchdown. There wasn’t a catch but there was a 31-yard pass interference call on Roberts to set up the first of three Stephen Gostkowski field goals.
“Lot of great plays we needed there in the last minutes of the game”, Brady said. This time, he attacked me more than I expected.
Two plays before the first touchdown pass to Malcolm Mitchell, Revis tackled running back Dion Lewis.
But who cares? From here on out, over the next four games and then however far in the playoffs the Pats get, Brady is going to eventually become the winningest QB in football history.
Fitzpatrick finished the game 22/32 for 269 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a 115.2 passer rating. The Jets had two timeouts left, and the Patriots still had to get a first down. Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa was able to make a ridiculous catch in the end zone to give the Jets a 17-13 lead.
“I think everybody is battling through different things”, Brady said. “He’s so committed to the team”. It means a lot to him, football matters. “He has come through in the clutch”.
Mitchell called Revis a “phenomenal player, a Hall of Famer”. “We have to find a way to finish at the end of a ballgame”. That’s why we all play, and I’ve just been a part of so many great teams and played with great coaches. “We did a good job of breaking flat on that quick out”. “All the way back to the spring, OTAs, training camp”. Mentally, (he) stayed on top of everything.
“I’m not trying to defend him or anything, but playing with him and having him as a friend, you just see that it’s tougher over there now probably with how things are going”. It’s a long season.
Extended Branch: The Patriots are certainly happy that Alan Branch is still in the lineup.
All this comes after Brady was forced to miss the first four games of the season because of a suspension.
“Our antennas have to be up”, said Darrelle Revis. The eight-year veteran had a strip-sack fumble against Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpartick with 1:51 left in the game to help seal a 22-17 victory at MetLife Stadium. It was a long kick so he had to (kick it) low. “Fortunately, I got that chance”.
Branch’s block served as a turnover of sorts for the Patriots’ defense. Russell Wilson, who had been intercepted two times all season, was picked off twice.
Meanwhile, New York’s offense continued to move the ball down field on Matt Patricia’s defense.
