Tom Brady speaks out on allegations against Manning: ‘I fully support Peyton’
The NFL says it is “reviewing” the controversial claims reported by Al Jazeera television that Peyton Manning received shipments of human-growth hormone.
The latter may explain why Deborah Davies, the Al Jazeera reporter, did her best during an appearance on The Today Show to note there are no allegations against the Broncos quarterback.
Whether it’s completely untrue or not, the story about Peyton Manning allegedly using HGH and maybe other PEDs in the past grabbed the attention of meme makers, who also involved Tom Brady in the situation.
“The only allegation in the program from Charlie Sly is that growth hormone was sent repeatedly from the [anti-aging clinic] Guyer [Institute] to Ashley Manning in Florida”, Davies said Tuesday morning. She says the report only claims that Manning’s wife, Ashley, received packages of HGH.
With his casual statements about supplying all manner of performance-enhancing drugs to big-name professional athletes, Sly endangered a swatch of moneyed interests.
Al Jazeera stands by its story.
Brady was careful not to speak to the details too directly, but he did make clear his support for Manning.
“Every medication I have is prescribed by our team physician”, Matthews said Sunday.
“It’s inexcusable and irresponsible that Al Jazeera would provide a platform and broadcast outright lies about Mr. Howard and Mr. Zimmerman”, Burck said in a statement. I don’t know. We’ve asked it. He hasn’t answered it. Reporter: The Al jazeera reporter saying her story raises questions, many of which she says still remain.
Guyer, for his part, denied that Sly had ever been an employee, but only an unpaid intern who worked in his office for three months. But television viewers in the United States watched it on AJAM, which launched in 2013 after the Qatar-based Al Jazeera Media Network purchased Current TV.
Sly has previously retracted the claims he made in the Al Jazeera documentary.
“We are thoroughly familiar with Peyton’s tireless work habits, his medical history, and, most importantly, his integrity”, the Colts said, according to the Indy Star.
“The statements on any recordings or communications that Al Jazeera plans to air are absolutely false and incorrect”, Sly said. Manning was treated at the facility in 2011 following four neck surgeries.
Manning acknowledged that he went to the Guyer Institute in 2011 to use a hyperbaric chamber, which was recommended by trainers and doctors with the Indianapolis Colts. They have met 16 times in their decorated careers and there’s even a Wikipedia page for the Brady-Manning rivalry.
