Tom Brady Thanks Tuukka Rask For Goalie Mask Tribute
Organizers compensated for the lack of snow in the Boston area so far this winter by spreading white, puffy fabric over the football field. The Bruins are the first team to host the Winter Classic twice.
The most storied rivalry in NHL history takes to the outdoors on Friday, as the Montreal Canadiens visit the Boston Bruins for the 2016 NHL Winter Classic.
The 69,000-seat venue in Foxborough, Mass., is the home of the NFL’s New England Patriots.
To commemorate Friday’s game, Condon had the back of his mask decorated with images of Patriots head coach Bill Belichik and star quarterback Tom Brady, as well as the four Vince Lombardi Trophies the Patriots have won as Super Bowl champions.
The new goalie mask also features an image of the old Boston Garden in wintertime.
Condon said Thursday that he did not have a chance to meet either of the local sports icons on his mask, deciding to keep the focus on Montreal. Boston trails the Canadians by one point, with 44, boasting a record of 20 wins and 12 losses, and putting them in third place in the division. Gallagher’s return is described as being a “massive addition” to the Canadiens’ game.

This afternoon goaltender Tuukka Rask was the man between the pipes for the Bruins, while on the other end of the ice was Mike Condon for the Montreal Canadiens.
What jerseys are the teams wearing for the Winter Classic? . Without Gallagher, the Canadiens went a dismal 5-11-1.
Just 1:14 into the game, David Desharnais nudged a puck past Rask on a rebound off a point shot by defenseman Alexei Emelin to put the score at 1-0 in favor of Montreal.
