Tom Cruise: Stunts mission possible due to long working hours
As Tom Cruise promoted his latest Mission Impossible movie, Rogue Nation, he revealed that a sequel of another of his best-known films is still on the cards – but that he doesn’t want Top Gun 2 to look like a videogame.
It has been almost 20 years since the first Mission: Impossible film came out, and Cruise said that while he now may be older, he keeps pushing himself. Going above and beyond the standard of having dates, Tom Cruise brought someone no one would ever suspect: Simon Pegg.
Those moviegoers who have witnessed the evolution of the Mission: Impossible franchise through the years will undoubtedly be more than satisfied with McQuarrie’s continuation of IMF’s ongoing world-saving exploits.
While Cruise said in an interview that he had his wrists wired to the plane, he stated that “When you see it I’m actually holding on”. Director Christopher McQuarrie knows how to control the ebb and flow of the action, keeping up the film’s brisk pace whilst lingering over the more visually impressive shots. In this movie, he holds onto the side of a plane as it takes off.
“I remember his face was like “that’s not going to be a problem”.
This time out Cruise’s International Monetary Fund team are cut off by the Central Intelligence Agency with lead character Ethan Hunt out in the field on his own.
With part of the film playing in the Austrian capital, the choice of Vienna made sense.
The subtitle of the movie, Rogue Nation, refers to a rogue governmental agency called the Syndicate that Hunt has discovered.
“I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious”. He has also aided Hunt in infiltrating the Kremlin and in retrieving stolen nuclear launch codes.
Tom Cruise’s alleged love interest Emily Thomas already has a boyfriend sparking doubts the “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” actor will ask her to marry him, despite reports.
