Tom Hardy plays both Kray twins in new trailer for crime thriller
To celebrate the release, the lovely lot at Working Title have supplied us with the Main Trailer for the film, as well as a gorgeous poster showcasing lead actors Tom Hardy and Tom Hardy…
The trailer for Legend hints that the violence will be sprinkled with a liberal dose of black humour. Hardy is Ron when he’s wearing glasses, and he’s Reggie when he looks more like his real-life self.
In the trailer, Ronnie is portrayed as a social outsider with a deep commitment to his brother, at one point telling the Reggie’s wife: “My loyalty to my brother is how I measure myself”.
Anyone who has seen Tom Hardy’s star turn as psychotic Jewish gangster Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders, will know the thuggish thespian is more than capable of giving a more than convincing turn as not just one but two Kray villains.
Last time there was a major Kray Twins film it starred those Kemp brothers out of Spandau Ballet.
As heads of the notorious criminal gang The Firm, the Krays were behind numerous armed robberies, murders, arson attacks and protection rackets up until their arrest on May 9, 1968.
The legend is due to be released in the United Kingdom on 11 September.
